This truck poster was inspired by one real moment during Christmas traffic, somewhere between Jal El Dib and Jounieh. I was completely stuck, frustrated, crawling on the highway… until this giant yellow truck pulled right in front of me! I couldn’t see the road! I couldn’t move! But there it was, in big bold letters on the back: "Ahla dawa sham al hawa" (meaning "The best remedy is to go out")
And suddenly, I smiled. Because it was true!
That moment, funny, honest, so Lebanese, stayed with me until I sketched it.
This truck illustration captures that iconic highway scene from behind, showing the bright yellow metal, the quirky quote, and the huge presence these trucks carry. At the top of the poster, you’ll find the title in Arabic:
"Sada Al Tarik Al Lloubneni", (meaning “Echo of the Lebanese Street”), a tribute to all the noise, color, and what we experience on the road.
